Welcome to abiento Inc.
abiento Inc. ("us", "we", or "our") operates https://connectavec.com, the avec Relationship Coordinator mobile application, the avec Chrome extension, and any affiliated software and mobile applications (collectively, the "Site"), and related products and services (collectively, the "Service" or "Services").
Our Privacy Policy governs your visit to the Site and explains how we collect, safeguard and disclose information that results from your use of our Service.
We use your data to provide and improve Service. By using Service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. Unless otherwise defined in this Privacy Policy, the terms used in this Privacy Policy have the same meanings as in our Terms and Conditions.
Our Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern all use of our Service and together with the Privacy Policy constitutes your agreement with us ("agreement").
SERVICE means the https://connectavec.com website, avec Relationship Coordinator mobile application, the avec Chrome extension, and any affiliated software and mobile applications operated by abiento Inc.
PERSONAL DATA means data about a living individual who can be identified from those data (or from those and other information either in our possession or likely to come into our possession).
USAGE DATA is data collected automatically either generated by the use of Service or from Service infrastructure itself (for example, the duration of a page visit).
COOKIES are small files stored on your device (computer or mobile device).
DATA CONTROLLER means a natural or legal person who (either alone or jointly or in common with other persons) determines the purposes for which and the manner in which any personal data are, or are to be, processed. For the purpose of this Privacy Policy, we are a Data Controller of your data.
DATA PROCESSORS (OR SERVICE PROVIDERS) means any natural or legal person who processes the data on behalf of the Data Controller. We may use the services of various Service Providers in order to process your data more effectively.
DATA SUBJECT is any living individual who is the subject of Personal Data.
THE USER is the individual using our Service. The User corresponds to the Data Subject, who is the subject of Personal Data.
We collect several different types of information for various purposes to provide and improve our Service to you.
While using our Service, we may ask you to provide us with certain personally identifiable information that can be used to contact or identify you ("Personal Data"). Personally identifiable information may include, but is not limited to:
We may use your Personal Data to contact you with our newsletters, marketing or promotional materials and other information that may be of interest to you. You may opt out of receiving any, or all, of these communications from us by following the unsubscribe link or by emailing at hello@connectavec.com.
We will not resell your Personal Data to third parties.
avec collects and processes trip and travel information ("Trip Data") to provide its core service. Trip Data includes city-level destination, travel dates, and trip details. Trip Data may be auto-imported from your Google Calendar (e.g., flight confirmation events) or manually entered by you. Trips are private by default and are only shared with contacts in your network according to your visibility settings (Orbits). avec does not collect or display street addresses, hotel names, or other granular location details — only city-level awareness.
avec does not track, collect, or store your real-time GPS location. The Service provides trip-level, city-level awareness — showing which city a user is in or traveling to based on Trip Data. This is fundamentally different from real-time location sharing. No background location tracking occurs at any time.
With your explicit opt-in, avec may access data from third-party accounts to enhance your network within the Service:
The provision of LinkedIn or Strava data is not required for use of the Service. You may disconnect these integrations at any time.
With your permission, avec may access the contacts stored on your device to help you find people you know who are already on avec, and to invite others to join your network. We may collect names, phone numbers, email addresses, and physical addresses from your device contact book for these purposes. You can revoke this permission at any time through your device settings.
With your permission, avec sends push notifications to alert you when contacts are traveling to your city, when your trips overlap with someone in your network, or when you receive a trip invite or booking request. Similarly, your trip data may be used to generate push notifications to contacts in your network, based on your trip-level privacy settings and Orbit visibility controls. You can manage or disable push notifications at any time through your device settings.
We may collect personal information that can be used to contact or identify you, and may include information such as an individual's name, email address, and telephone number ("Personal Information").
When you register an Account, you sign in using Google OAuth. "OAuth" is an open protocol for authorization — a commonly used way for users to log in to sites using their accounts with third-party services without exposing their passwords. Through Google OAuth, we may access and collect your name, email address, and other Personal Information that your privacy settings on your Google Account permit us to access, subject to the terms of this Privacy Policy. We do not collect or store your Google password.
When you invite others to join the Service, you provide us with certain contact information that allows us to send an invitation. We may also receive Personal Information through other users, for example if they have tried to give you access to an account or refer the Service to you. It is your responsibility to ensure that your Personal Information is up-to-date.
While using your services, we may collect Personal Data and Personal Information. You have a right, as an individual, to request the Personal Data and Personal Information we have collected about you. To do so, please contact legal@connectavec.com.
We may also collect information that your browser sends whenever you visit our Service or when you access Service by or through a mobile device ("Usage Data").
This Usage Data may include information such as your computer's Internet Protocol address (e.g. IP address), browser type, browser version, the pages of our Service that you visit, the time and date of your visit, the time spent on those pages, unique device identifiers and other diagnostic data.
When you access Service with a mobile device, this Usage Data may include information such as the type of mobile device you use, your mobile device unique ID, the IP address of your mobile device, your mobile operating system, the type of mobile Internet browser you use, unique device identifiers and other diagnostic data.
We use cookies and similar tracking technologies to track the activity on our Service and we hold certain information.
Cookies are files with a small amount of data which may include an anonymous unique identifier. Cookies are sent to your browser from a website and stored on your device. Other tracking technologies are also used such as beacons, tags and scripts to collect and track information and to improve and analyze our Service.
You can instruct your browser to refuse all cookies or to indicate when a cookie is being sent. However, if you do not accept cookies, you may not be able to use some portions of our Service.

The Site will only use access to read, write, modify, or control Calendar event data to (a) auto-import trip information from flight confirmation events, (b) create and update availability blocks and calendar events on your behalf as needed to coordinate meetups and bookings, and (c) send calendar invites to participants. The Site will not transfer this Calendar data to others unless doing so is necessary to provide and improve these features, comply with applicable law, or as part of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets. The Site will not use this Calendar data for serving advertisements. The Site will not allow humans to read this Calendar data unless we have your affirmative agreement for metadata of specific events, doing so is necessary for security purposes such as investigating abuse, to comply with applicable law, or for the App's internal operations and even then only when the data have been aggregated and anonymized.

We will retain integrated account data and credentials provided to us for provision of syncing functionality on various platforms (including LinkedIn and Strava) on an opt-in basis. If you provide the Site access to login credentials or authorized connections for external sources, the Site will only use access to read relevant data (such as connection lists and profile names) as part of product-based workflows to populate your avec network. The Site will not access messages, posts, activity feeds, workout data, or other content beyond what is described in this policy. The Site will not allow humans to access these credentials unless with affirmative consent in providing support, is necessary for security purposes such as investigating abuse, to comply with applicable law, or for the App's internal operations and even then only when the data have been aggregated and anonymized.
The provision of integrated account data is not required for use of services. You may disconnect any integration at any time through your avec account settings.
The avec Chrome extension is designed to import your LinkedIn connections into your avec network. The extension only activates on linkedin.com and does not run on, collect data from, or modify any other websites. When activated, the extension reads publicly visible connection data (names and profile information) from your LinkedIn connections page and transmits it to avec's servers to populate your network. The extension does not access your LinkedIn messages, posts, feed, or any content beyond your connections list. You may uninstall the extension at any time to stop all data collection.
